Imaging Services
Imaging Services offers the latest in advanced digital imaging technology in a convenient outpatient setting.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging/Angiography (MRI/MRA)
Our latest development is extended hours for MR imaging (MRI). MRI now operates Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
MRI is a non-invasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions using a powerful magnetic field, radio frequency pulses and a computer to produce detailed pictures of organs, soft tissues, bones and virtually all other internal body structures.
Detailed MR images allow physicians to better evaluate various parts of the body and certain diseases that may not be assessed adequately with other imaging methods.
Our new wide-bore MRI scanner has more open space without compromising image quality. We offer greater comfort, a higher weight limit and the highest-quality imaging available in the Upstate.
Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear medicine is a branch of medicine that uses small amounts of radioactive material to diagnose or treat a variety of diseases.
Ultrasound-General, Vascular and Echocardiography
Ultrasound imaging involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves. Because ultrasound images are captured in real time, they can show the structure of the body’s internal organs as well as the blood flowing through blood vessels. Our non-invasive ultrasound, vascular and echocardiography capabilities provides several diagnostic tests to aid in the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients with peripheral and cardiovascular disease. State-of-the-art ultrasound equipment is used to perform all tests.
Experienced registered sonographers perform every exam, and appointments are often available on the same day you visit your physician. Patients may be referred by their physician or may request services on their own.
Bone Densitometry
Bone densitometry scanning (DXA) is an enhanced form of x-ray technology that is used to measure bone loss.
Computed Tomography (CT scan)
CT scans combine special x-ray equipment with sophisticated computers to produce multiple images of the inside of the body, including bones and blood vessels. Imaging Services has the capability to do most CT exams, as well as cardiac scoring.
Digital Mammography
As an extension of the Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health, the Village Hospital offers the same high-quality digital mammography services. The MammoPad(R) means minimal discomfort for your mammogram.
Cardiac Diagnostic Testing
We offer a variety of cardiac diagnostic testing, which includes exercise treadmill and nuclear stress testing, 24- and 48-hour Holter monitoring, and 12-lead EKGs. Call 530-4671 for more information about these tests.
Same-day appointments are usually available.
