Focused on providing care to you and your family, the Village Hospital brings a new approach to health care with its unique management structure and independent medical staff. Comprised of emergency services, medical and surgical care and maternity services, the Village Hospital is a 48-bed facility located at Westmoreland Road and Highway 14 in Greer.
The Village Hospital consists of 44 inpatient rooms and includes four intensive care rooms, areas to care for pediatric patients and telemetry for monitoring cardiac patients. The facility also has four labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms, four operating suites and an emergency department with 11 rooms.
Emergency Services
Located on the first level, the emergency services area includes patient care areas that are specifically designed to care for trauma, orthopedic, bariatric, pediatric and female patients, and patients in need of close observation. Through the electronic physician order entry and documentation system, the staff can provide the community with the most comprehensive, efficient, patient-focused emergency care.
Perioperative Services
Perioperative services are located on the second level and include pre- and post-operative beds, a minor procedure room and isolation room with family waiting area. The operating rooms contain state-of-the-art Steris®/Stryker® integration. A television in the waiting area is equipped with patient-locating software that assigns each patient a code by which family members can track the patient’s progress throughout the procedure.
Maternity Services
Also on the second level, maternity services provides a labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) model of care. This allows the mother to remain in the same room during her stay and “room in” with her newborn. The unit also features triage rooms, a C-section suite and nursery. A celebratory meal, complete with a table for two, is provided for the parents after the birth.
Medical, Surgical and Intensive Care
The third and fourth floors of the building are comprised of areas that provide care for medical, surgical and intensive care patients.
Patient-focused Care
Convenience for patient and visitors carries over into each patient room. Within each patient room are several features designed to maximize functional efficiency and effectiveness for the patient care team without disturbing the patient. With its many distinctive characteristics, the national award-winning room design was created by Clemson University’s School of Architecture + Health – one of only two healthcare architectural specialty programs in the United States.
The private rooms are larger than traditional rooms and are made up of three distinct room zones for patient, family and staff. Each room features GetWellNetwork®, an interactive system that provides patients and their families access to patient education, on-demand movies, games and the Internet.
In addition to state-of-the-art technology in a natural, relaxed setting, the Village Hospital brings together an independent medical staff of local physicians, dedicated to caring for their own community. The facility operates under a unique management structure of individuals who have worked together to determine the best model to care for patients, visitors and fellow employees. This new structure empowers each individual to deliver the best care possible.
