Medical and Surgical Floor and Intensive Care Unit
The Village Hospital provides care for medical and surgical patients, as well as those needing intensive care.
These patient care floors are created with one primary nurses’ station, and several smaller stations, known as perches, located throughout the floor. This design allows staff to have greater visibility to each patient room.
The perioperative services area is located on the second floor of the Village Hospital, and includes pre-operative beds, post-operative beds, a minor procedure room and isolation room with family waiting area.
The operating rooms contain state-of-the-art Steris®/Stryker® integration, including the latest innovations in patient comfort and care. Orthopaedic surgeons perform joint replacements using computer-assisted equipment, care for sports injuries, muscle tears and fractures requiring surgery. A program called Joint Camp educates patients about all phases of joint replacement surgery, from the first appointment to physical therapy after surgery.
Gynecologists can perform intricate surgery with the latest laparoscopic methods. Minimally invasive surgery reduces discomfort and downtime for the patient at the Village Hospital.
A television in the family waiting area is equipped with software that assigns each patient a code by which family members can track their loved one's progress throughout his or her surgery.
